Grants

We issue 4 types of grants to help the families of children aged ten and under who have been diagnosed with a metabolic disorder. These are Essentials, Emergency, Experience and Food Preparation.


We have issued over 1500 grants since the charity was started in 2012.

Essentials

Food Preparation

Food Preparation

The purpose of this scheme is to provide a small grant of up to £100 to assist families with the financial costs of day-to-day life following a metabolic disorder. We can help with things such as:


  • Travel costs to and from hospital
  • Parking costs at hospital
  • Utility Bills
  • Some household bills
  • Council Tax

Food Preparation

The purpose of this scheme is to provide a grant to families to help them buy kitchen equipment to help them care for their child. Please review the Food Prep Guidance Document for more information. 


The Grant will be awarded up to £50.

The purpose of this scheme is to provide a grant to families to help meet the financial cost of unexpected, emergency situations not covered by the Essentials, Experience and Food Preparation Grant Schemes.


Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and families can apply for this grant more than once.

Cost of Living

  The Campbell Burns Metabolic Trust recognises that some families caring for children with metabolic conditions may experience particular challenges during the current Cost of Living crisis. We've therefore temporarily amended our Small Grant Scheme and introduced a Cost of Living Grant.
